Also on the ground floor, a colorful 'jungle room' is a great area set up for the kids, next to the game room and it has a TV/VCR combo with dozens of Disney videos for the kids and has two rattan-style daybeds/lounges. All Bedrooms in the house feature comfortable premium mattresses.

The House has 3 dining areas (inside/outside), large open floor plan and a living room with comfortable sofas and large Samsung Flatscreen Smart TV. There are beautifully refinished pine floors throughout. Softly painted wood paneling adds to the authentic character. The house is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping in a privately walled garden that features an outdoor shower out back and a secluded under-porch hang-out spot with lounge chairs outside of the game room.

On the top floor, the master suite (Kingsize bed) is softly inviting, with an angled-ocean view between two ocean-front houses, and it has a tv-armoire. The large master bathroom is tiled with natural coral stone and features a Kohler deep-soaking tub, large shower and custom double sink vanity.  The master bathroom is large enough for an average size Pack-n-Play to be set up, for couples with an infant.

The kitchen is a cook's dream--furnished with a gas range with warming-drawer, microwave, Sub-Zero refrigerator with inner ice-maker, stainless-steel appliances, every imaginable gadget and even an oyster/crab steaming pot pot. Additional dining options al-fresco: an outdoor table for four directly adjacent to the main dining room on the front porch, overlooking the dunes, and dining for 6 or more on the screened back porch---quiet, shady and private.

Many groups come for long golf, shopping or fishing weekends. Wrightsville Beach is one of the premier yachting communities on the East Coast, and charter fishing is a huge draw. Some of our guests charter Captain Robbie Wolfe's 'Whipsaw'--a 42' Custom Carolina Sportfisher with twin diesels, three fighting chairs and enjoy Full, 3/4 or half day trips to area 'secret' hot fishing spots. There are numerous museums and places of interest:  NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, NC Battleship Memorial, EUE ScreenGems Movie Studio, and much more.  Whatever your interest, the Richards Cottage is perfectly suited for groups of 11 or under.
