PROPERTY Description

Beautiful DECKED OUT is dressed for the beach and ready to party. This three off the beach, is an easy five minute walk from the beach access. Furnished sundecks wrap the house and provide the best views of ocean sunrises and sound sunsets. The ground level has 2 carports, basketball goal, good parking, Weber Kettle grill, park grill, shower, and fish cleaning station. The first living level opens with an inviting hot tub on a communal south deck. The hall bath has a tub/shower and is close to laundry nook. Bedroom one has a queen and TV. Bedroom two has one bunk, a futon, and TV/VCR with Nintendo. Bedroom three has a queen and an LCD/TV with DVD. On the top floor DECKED OUT has a large great room with cathedral ceiling, bath, super comfy living area anchored by large LCD/TV/DVD, WIFI, and stereo. A large well equipped kitchen has all the tools, and a breakfast bar. Bedroom four is a king master with deck access, LCD/TV/DVD, and full bath with tub/shower.

* House is also located in close proximity to all world class Sound side and Ocean side kiteboarding spots. Also, world class surf breaks S-Turns, Avon Pier, and the Lighthouse and many more secret surf breaks.

cockroaches remain

I thought after reading all the previous reviews the cockroaches would be gone. They aren't.

Bugs, Issues, and OK

So we had reserved this place because it accepted pets and met our needs. Unfortunately, just after sending our final payment, the review about bugs in June came up. We were instantly alarmed. I contacted the property manager, who explained the situation and let me know that this has now been sprayed 3 times and that we won’t have an issue. WE HAD ISSUES. BUGS EVERYWHERE. I contacted the property manager about this, and with a lot of attitude, he agreed to get someone over on Monday. Yuck, but OK. Sunday I spent a long time cleaning the kitchen (that supposedly had just been professionally cleaned). There was a ton of stuff on the counters and clearly no on had ever moved them out of the way to clean behind because there were crumbs and dead bugs all over. There was even a vat of oil (bacon?) in the corner with a loose fitting lid. I'm sure that helped attract bugs.I then later had issues with the satellite TV, and I again called the PM about it. He said it was working when he and his 7 year old cleaned Saturday and that he was unavailable to look at it until the next day at the earliest. He said that it’s a simple enough system that a 7 YO can figure it out. I couldn’t and called the manufacturer. After spending an hour Sunday on the phone with the satellite company, we figured out that apparently somebody unplugged one of the satellite components making it impossible for the system to work. It was out of the way where we wouldn’t have touched it, but who knows, maybe a cleaning crew or their kid thought it was in the way. Anyway I was able to get it working. Monday comes and the bug people show up. The two of them come up with their small aerosol cans of bug spray. I show them bugs. I show them live bugs in the spice cabinet, and around the refrigerator and stove. I show them the dead bug inside the refrigerator (yuck). I show them all the locations that I have seen bugs. I guess after seeing multiple bugs during daylight, they opted to go back to their trucks and mix some other stuff. They were great, but as they warned us, we still had bugs. We saw them every day. Everywhere. Besides the bugs, there were a number of things that didn’t work, like the lock on the sliding glass door of the MBR. I would have called but after the attitude I received about the bug and TV issues, it just didn’t matter enough. It was an OK place, and if it wasn’t for the bug issue, I would stay again. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT STAY AGAIN. YUCK.

Great location, good views and family friendly

We had a good time staying at this property. Love the easy walk to the beach and close proximity to shops in Avon. We were able to see beautiful sunsets over the sound from the deck. Short drive from Cape Hatteras lighthouse and good surfing. Tom the manager was very friendly and helpful.
