This cozy old farmhouse is surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian Mtns and Blue Ridge Parkway. Great family getaway for the adventurous at heart. Take a hike to the top of the mountain and catch a glimpse of our Carolina sunsets or the amazing 180 degree view reaching Grandfather Mtn, Sugar, Tennesee and Virginia.
Home has a fully equiped comfortable kitchen and 4 bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a comfortable queen bed. Two of the bedrooms upstairs have double beds and the master bedroom has a queen bed and a twin futon. The couch is a sofa bed.
Wheelchair accesible main floor bedroom and bathroom (bathroom is not en suite). Laundry facility available, satellite flatscreen TV and internet.
Farm is conveniently located 10 to 15 miles from Boone, Blowing Rock and Appalachian Ski Mtn. All other ski resorts are 30 miles nearby. Great shopping and restaurants within minutes.
Perfect get away place - off the beaten path - no traffic coming through all the time - nice sound of running stream always. Great place to relax. The house is just what you'd expect of a 1920's farmhouse, but with modern necessities added.Q

Charming home in a very convenient location.
My family and some boy scout guests had an awesome weekend at this home. The home is secluded yet very conveniently located to Boone (less than 15 minutes) and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway (just minutes). Food Lion is less than 10 minutes away. The home was very clean and comfortable. The home is quite old yet has all modern conveniences. Loved the gas fire place. Didn't even use the wood burning stove. Great modern kitchen that had a cabinet that was stocked with seasonings and baking goods. The stove is awesome and we put it to good use. The fridge had condiments. All of the bedrooms are very comfortable--most had memory foam mattresses.
If you are looking for something to do jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the nearby overlooks with incredible views. Google "Cascade Falls Blue Ridge Parkway" to find the location of a gem of nature. Take a short hike to Cascade Falls from the trail head on Blue Ridge Parkway. Absolutely picturesque--especially when we went during the winter where part of it was frozen. The trail head is only a 10 minute drive from the home.
We went sledding on Beech Mountain one day and Skiing in Blowing Rock the next. A memorable weekend for everyone. We are looking forward to coming back.
PS, I read a poor review that mentions a bottling plant. Looks like the owner does bottle spring water on the property however we didn't see any activity except for a pretty fountain that I assume is spring fed.
